Patricia Smith is a coach, facilitator, professional speaker, and leader. She currently holds the title of Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Organization Development at The Leading Hotels of the World, where she is facilitating the reinvention of this hospitality organization’s culture. Among her accomplishments in this role, Smith launched the Leading Learning Institute – a global training and development program for the 470 leading hotels around the world.
Previously, Smith was Executive Vice President at Wyndham International, with responsibility for transforming the corporate culture and leading a network of regional HR offices – encompassing 24,000 employees – across North America and the Caribbean. Her focus on a highly successful diversity reinvention program took Wyndham’s NAACP hotel ranking from 11th to 2nd in just three years.
Prior to Wyndham, Smith was a Strategy Implementation Director and Senior Consultant with Wilson Learning Corp, partnering with William Ury, co-founder of Harvard’s Negotiation Program, to design cultural evolution strategies and diversity and sales training solutions for the pharmaceutical, manufacturing, and insurance industries. Smith also spent 15 years with The Walt Disney Company in various leadership roles. She started her career as a nurse, and holds a Master’s Degree in Career and HRD, and two Bachelor Degrees in Communications and Metaphysics.
Smith was introduced to the Histiocytosis Association in 2008 as a strategic planning consultant, and has since transitioned into her current role as a volunteer. She says her passion is helping people, organizations, and businesses to discover and unleash their possibility, and she is thrilled and honored to be an Association Board Member.
