Our Endowment Fund

The Board of Trustees of the Histiocytosis Association of America established an endowment fund in 1996 with a gift of $ 17,500.  Today, the Histiocytosis Association of America Endowment Fund is worth more than $150,000, thanks to the generous gifts directed to the fund over the last ten years.

When money, or other gifted assets, is given to the Association's endowment, the funds are placed in a separate, restricted account.  Only the income from this account may be used by the Association each year.  The principle remains unused and untouched.  Eventually, this type of fund will ensure that the Association has permanent funding for research and programs.

Your gift to the endowment fund can help ensure that the Association's research and programs continue into the future to help generations of children and adults dealing with histiocytic disorders.

There are a number of ways that you can contribute to the Association's endowment fund: direct donations, bequests, gifts of stock, ownership of property, etc. Each of these ways can offer substantial tax deductions to the donor and, importantly, guarantees the future of the Association's work.

Bequests

You can provide hope to many families by extending your support of our Association's programs beyond your lifetime. Whether your legacy is large or small, you can support our programs of research, member support, education and service by remembering our Association in your will.

To make a bequest of cash or other property to the Association, your will (or supplemental codicil, if you do not wish to write a new will) should state: "I give and bequeath to the Histiocytosis Association of America, a nonprofit corporation, organized under the laws of the State of New Jersey, and having its office at 332 N. Broadway, Pitman, NJ 08071, the sum of $____ or _____ percent of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate to be used for general purposes of the Association."

A bequest to the Histiocytosis Association of America is fully deductible for estate tax purposes. In addition, remembering the Association in your will is an important and personal way of providing hope to children and adults with histiocytic disorders for generations to come.

If you would like more information on making a gift to the Association's Endowment Fund or on making a bequest, please contact the Histiocytosis Association of America by calling 1 (800) 548-2758.

Every person's individual tax situation is different.  You should always consult with your personal tax or legal advisor regarding the impact of any proposed gift on your personal situation.
