Dear Members: Last year the Histiocytosis Association of America funded over $450,000 for research seeking better treatments and a cure for the various histiocytic disorders. It has been an amazing year with rapid progress being made towards unlocking the secrets surrounding these diseases. It is important to maintain our research momentum and we have recently announced to physicians and scientists that we will be awarding research grants by October of this year. Our goal is to fund another $450.000 this year and we are seeking additional means of financial support to accomplish this. We still need to raise $100,000 to reach that goal. There are two ways you can help us reach our goal - make a direct donation and help us to acquire Corporate and Foundation support. Most companies have a giving program and are more then willing to help organizations such as ours. The secret is to find a link between the Association and the company. That link is you! If you work for, or know of, a company that you think may be in a position to help all you need to do is write or call me. Together we can put together a presentation that will help convince the company to take us under their wing. Also keep in mind that Foundations are in the business of dispensing money to non-profits.
