How to Become a Volunteer

Volunteering is a great way to further the cause, support the Association and make a difference in the Histio Community. It can also be an opportunity to meet new people and learn new skills. If you'd like to do something other than making a donation, consider lending your time and talents. It is an opportunity to serve the Histio Community - working together towards a cure.

It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3

Volunteering for the Histiocytosis Association is really that easy. We’ve outlined the three (3) steps for you here.

1. Submit an application: Choose the volunteer opportunity that interests you and complete the application. Once your application is received, an Association staff member will contact you to set up a training session at a time that is convenient for you to discuss the details about the position and your role as an Association volunteer.

2. Get set up for success: During a brief training session, an Association member will review the details and responsibilities of the position with you, equipping you with the necessary tools to become a successful volunteer. During your training session you will receive documentation of the information reviewed, so don’t worry if you forget something covered during the session: you’ll have the answers right in front of you.

3. Start volunteering: Once the necessary documentation is signed and submitted you can start experiencing what it is to volunteer for the Histiocytosis Association! We will be here to guide you and answer any questions you may have during your volunteer experience.

Meet our Volunteers

We love our volunteers; what’s not to love? They are ordinary everyday people who said, “I want to make a difference”. Visit the Meet our Volunteers page, read the testimonials and learn why they became Association volunteers.

“Trust that little voice in your head that says ‘Wouldn’t it be interesting if…’; And then do it.”
